Conclusion

Age is not a weakness. If over millennia and in all cultures across the world, the elders have always been recognized as a repository of wisdom there must be something about Age that deserves that recognition.

Increasing life spans allow us the opportunity for greater learning and those that use such opportunity effectively are definitely worthy of regard.

As any trekker knows, the assumption that the hill you are climbing is the highest is proved wrong as soon as you reach its summit and see the many more even higher peaks, all the way to Mt. Everest. So too the knowledge and experience you are gaining as you go from Youth to Age! Keep learning. May wisdom grant you greater understanding and happiness!

Message To my Young Friends, –

About Understanding yourself and how to best live your Life!

I exhort each of you to – ‘Think Big – Dare to Dream and Strive to Achieve’, – by always giving of your best and continually striving to attain to just that ‘little bit more‘.‘

You deserve to be Happy and Loved and Respected for who you are (not for who your parents are/were or for what you have), and the only way this will come to be is through your own RIGHT EFFORTS, which will, by the GRACE of GOD, and with the BLESSINGS of your ELDERS and the GOODWISHES of your FRIENDS, get you the success you deserve. May be not in your very first effort, but finally, as you learn to view failure, not as a wasted effort, but as a lesson in what did not work, and so direct your future efforts in a more effective manner.

Remove the word ‘Impossible’ from your vocabulary, as that word is only for those who give up too easily. Let me quote the saying that reflects the attitude of the Corps of Engineers, Indian Army to any task:

“The Impossible we do routinely, for Miracles we need a weeks’ notice!”

It is such an attitude that the difference between the Average and the Outstanding performers.

A Sense of Purpose, and the satisfaction of having given of your BEST for any undertaking, leads to your Happiness. So, aim to: “Be Happy and Spread Happiness around you!”

Being HAPPY also, arises out of being HONEST, especially to yourself and especially regarding your Finances. Do not spend more than you earn or pretend to have more than you do.

Take RIGHT actions based on your current situation. Only you can know what is RIGHT for you, choosing RIGHT will create HARMONY in your Life. Do not Promise more than you can Deliver. You must value your WORD so that others can then value YOU.

Be Punctual, as not only is it rude to not value others time, but unpunctuality also, results in creating an impression that you are not reliable.

Also, remember you don’t have to agree with everybody in this life, and everybody doesn’t have to agree with you, but that does not mean that you are right, or that they are wrong.

Being Happy also, arises from striving to spread Happiness around you.

Recollect the ONE ‘Golden Rule’ which the ALMIGHTY has ever impressed on each of us to follow without equivocation or mental reservation of any kind.

The Rule that says: “Do not Do Unto or demand of Others, what you would not want Others to Do Unto or demand of You!”

This means to not be arrogant, or too full of yourself, but to be willing to learn, to empathize with all the others you interact with daily, putting yourself in their place and trying to understand them, and with such understanding speak to, or deal with, them in a manner such as you would like others to speak to or deal with you were you in their position.

This means making it a habit of asking yourself THREE essential questions to be answered truly and affirmatively before saying anything about others: “Is it TRUE?” – “Is it KIND?” – “Is it NECESSARY?”

It also, means that as you deal with those who seek your help, you remind yourself that: “There but for the Grace of God be I!”

If you however, like everyone else at some time or the other, find yourself in troubled circumstances, seek solace in remembering that: “SOON THIS TOO SHALL PASS!” and press on with your Right Efforts.

I am confident that living with these thoughts in mind will lead to Happiness for each of you.
