Summary:

Privacy is what everyone seeks even as one also, wants to share or search for or access information from various platforms, portals or on-line sites. Media and various NGOs, for their own vested or financial interests, have made a major issue of the possibility of loss of privacy of one’s data from such platforms, portals or on-line sites and seek to put impractical restrictions on them. We therefore need to understand the trade-off between the benefits from using such platforms, portals or on-line sites at the least cost possible and the risks we might incur from doing so. After all, would we really want to do without the benefits of even more such services in future?
