A Dream Budget should not only be an exercise in Accounting, it should be a Policy statement about how to bring about general prosperity for All.
Populism and Protectionism should be minimum and based on rational appreciation of the long term prosperity expected therefrom. History teaches us that both Populism and Protectionism are only short term measures and soon lead to the collapse of the system. There should be no policy offering something ‘Free’. As ‘Free’ ends up too costly. The concept that there is ‘No Free Lunch’ is to be understood and applied.
