Curriculum upto VIlth, Xth and Xllth Class allowing children to have a broad and general understanding of at least the fundamentals of all the following and a much greater functional capability in the more commonly required areas. The aim is to understand the fundamentals of each of the subjects. Repetitive and detailed work can be done by Computers and such knowledge gained from the Internet / AI Bots.
Language, Logic and Literature – To understand, to communicate. Knowing more than one language broadens the mind and allows for better understanding and comprehension of the nuances of communication or expression. No particular language is perfect, except perhaps Sanskrit, each has its own strengths. But as the main object is to communicate, it is essential that we learn to use the most commonly understood language for the greatest effect and reach which today is English, or which more appropriately in India should be recognized as Indian English or ‘INGLISH’, incorporating flavours of all the Indian Languages, thus making it more another Indian Language. Other languages may be used when they may be more appropriate in particular circumstances. To understand the rules of, Semantics, Identity and Logic, in order to be able to properly evaluate statements and claims and better express ourselves
Debating and Declamation in order to be able to present our views clearly and concisely. Literature to better understand how others did so in the past. Understand Articles, Advertisements and Graphs in mass circulation Press and Media. (See “LANGUAGE- makes us Strangers in our own Country?”).
- History – Nothing is really new in Social, Cultural and Economic ideas. Someone somewhere has in some when (past) must have tried out a similar idea. Learning from and about their experiences and building upon them will make it easier for one to execute one’s own idea and also, to avoid earlier mistakes. Ancient history and how some knowledge of Archaeology and Genetics can lead to better understanding, must also be included.
- Geography – Identifying, Locations-Understanding of Latitude and Longitude and Maps and their uses. -Physical features. Understanding the difference between Weather and Climate and, the Environment, its resources and limitations, and its effects on the Lifestyle and Culture, Economics and Trade and on the growth and collapse of civilizations. Earth sciences and climate studies, Geological time scales
- Social Studies, Humanities and Civics – Understanding the difference between being Equal and being treated with Equality. (See ‘EQUALITY for ALL’ or ‘ALL are EQUAL’) Understanding Ethics, Morality, Cultural mores and memes, Law and Justice and Fairness, validity of statistics and of evidence, Human rights and Equality of consideration and opportunity, Empathy, Mindfulness of others needs and Altruism. Understanding Laws, System of Justice and of Governance. Dealing with Administrative and Governmental Authorities etc. Understanding Electoral representations and the importance of vote and civic responsibilities and Laws of the Commons. Understand the ubiquity of the Pareto principle and its effects.
- Mathematics – understanding of Numbers and how their relationships can be expressed, arranging in orders of magnitude, and the different base systems, decimal, binary, sexagesimal etc. Practical applications of various measures and scales. Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry. Understanding growth, arithmetic / geometric I exponential / logarithmic, simple and compound interest, ratios and percentages, series and integration and differentiation and limits. Understanding, the difference between average, median and mean, statistics and other ways of presenting data and their implications and limitations, probabilities, randomness and natural complexities and their representation and effects, fundamentals of Topology and Knot theory, Sets and their relationships and Matrixes.
- Science – How it develops and postulates a hypothesis or theory and tests it for validation, empirical versus anecdotal evidence, the difference between scientific and ‘sciency’ explanations, and of the logic and validity of interpolations and extrapolations. Understanding that Science is only a method of proving the falsity of Theory or the Conditional validity of it.
- Chemistry – The periodic tables, valency, interaction of mixtures and solutions, binary and other complex reactions.
- Physics – The concept of Space at both Quantum and Cosmic levels. The Laws of Nature, (of light, sound, motion, gravity, thermodynamics etc.), differences in the nature of, and the interaction of, physical matter, energy and forces at human scale, at cosmic scale and also, at micro, nano and quantum scales, and how they affect us or can be used by us for our benefit. Tools and the fundamentals of mechanical elements-the lever, the pulley, the wedge, the inclined plane, the screw and the wheel and axle.
- Biology – The principles of natural selection, plant and animal types and their ways of multiplication etc. The nature and codes of living matter (DNA, genes etc.) and how life develops, grows, mutates, interacts and competes with other life for resources and finally is overcome / dies and is used by other life in a sustainable natural cycle, and how we can use all such knowledge for our benefit.
- Ecology – The interaction of all the above with the environment, to develop and grow various ecologies, the measures used to ascertain their sustainability or otherwise. Develop a practical understanding of Agriculture, and of the various cycles of Nature – soil fertility, water availability and use and, the value of Composting and water conservation etc.
- Arts and Architecture – Understanding drawings, plans and perspectives, of Orientation, lighting and ventilation and drainage. Arts and Crafts, Music, Harmony, Scales, Notation, Dance and Dramas, Handicrafts and other Craft skills.
- Health and Fitness – Yoga, Meditation, Dietary requirements, exercise and sports. General anatomy, the advantage of the evolutionof the complex human brain and the dexterity of the human hand with an opposable thumb, and the functioning of the body and mind. An understanding of the phenomenon of shamanism, hysteria and visions and their validity and of Left and Right brain differences and the Chemical nature of the mind and perception. The importance of physical fitness for health and proper enjoyment of life. Sports and Adventure activities.
- Astronomy and Cosmology – Orbits, Calendars, Telling Time and Dates, Solstices, Eclipses, Cosmic radiation, AU, Galaxies and Light year measurements, size of the Universe, Black holes, Nova and Supernova etc. The concept of the “Big Bang”, String theory, Multi-Dimensions and of Time and Relativity.
- Economics and Finance – Concept of money, Trade and implications of Globalization/ Protectionism, Investment in markets, Concept of return on investment, Debt, Risk and Insurance / Hedging, Budgeting and the fundamentals of accounting. Functioning of Banks, Credit / Debit Cards, ATMs. Calculation of Interest and EMls of Loans. Calculation of wages, deductions in salaries, sharing of expenses / bills, calculating discounts, keeping track of debts, taxes and benefits etc.
- Information Technology – Recognize the many stores of information, facts and figures. Using Computers, Touch Screen, E-mails and Internet to access them to extract knowledge {both historical and modern} as necessary, to come up with appropriate applications and solutions to problems, avoiding earlier mistakes. Understanding of AI / GAI and how to best use such capabilities.
