Ensure you follow the Rules as given below-

1. That the surroundings of your Plot/ Building present what YOU consider an appropriate atmosphere.
2. That your Plot / Building fits in Proportionately and Harmoniously into the surroundings. We humans have an inherent preference for symmetry, though we may at times introduce an element of asymmetry for an effect.
3. That it is properly oriented / aligned as necessitated by the Geographical conditions of the region (i.e.) :

1. 1. To the seasonal Solar movement for proper Lighting, to the prevailing and seasonal winds for proper ventilation and protection from storms etc.
   2. To the ground conditions for proper drainage and protection from flooding, landslides etc.
   3. To the local Geo-energy and magnetic fields for protection from the adverse effects of Negative energy lines and nodes. Use dowsing or the neuro – muscular resistance / kinestheology test to determine
      suitability. Also, note that places that have energy field’s positive for human welfare are easily sensed by dogs and cattle, long domesticated by humans. Cats, though also, long domesticated, prefer energy fields that are negative for humans, as also, do ants, termites etc. (See – “Temples & Earth’s Energy Grid’).
   4. In the Tropical areas of the Northern Hemisphere keep the entrances to the Site / Building, in the North, or the East, or preferably at the NorthEast, or the South of the South-East, or the West of North-West, as the general drainage and access conditions allow. In other latitudes keep them according to the Sun, wind and again according to the drainage and access conditions.

4. That your Building has a pleasing, proportionate and well lit entrance and that the various rooms and areas / spaces therein are all designed for functionality and easy interaction and are conveniently located with respect to each other and are of adequate size and are suitably laid out as may be required for that function.
5. That it allows convenient and easy movement through, around and outside it, of all inmates and items as required, including waiting or storage areas as applicable for:
   1. people :
      1. Inmates – Family and Servants.
      2. Guests – Family / Friends – Residing or Visiting.
      3. Others – Tradesmen / Service Personnel, Meter Read ers, Revenue / Tax Officials etc.
   2. Animals – Pets
   3. Paper :
      1. News Paper/ Post
      2. Old Papers / Magazines
      3. Packaging and Waste Paper
   4. Electricity – Mains / Stand by and inside and outside Power and Lighting as functionally required, or for any special effects / occasions. Power Connection to the Premises and the location of Generators etc. should as far as possible be in the South-East Quadrant.
   5. Water – Collecting/Receiving/Storing – for Drinking, Cooking/ Washing etc. Keep separate Clean / Dirty / Sewage / Rain / Over flow from Neighbouring Areas. As far as possible and practical, allow for the flow of water towards the North – East.
   6. Light – Sun Light by day and other lighting for working or at night including for special effects.
   7. Air – Ventilation during Day and Night and Air Conditioning.
   8. Clothes/ Linen – New/Clean / Dirty– Washing/ Drying / Ironing / Storage/Old for discarding.
   9. Groceries / Vegetables and Fruits / Food – Receiving, Cleaning, Storing, Using and Serving.
   10. Crockery/ Cutlery/ Utensils – Clean/ Dirty – Stacking and Storing.
   11. Garbage / Waste – Collection and Disposal and Composting etc.
   12. Conveniences and Services – Cable / Internet /TV / Phones / Gas etc.
   13. Vehicles – Own and Visitors Parking – Temporary and Longer term. The North-West Quadrant is a good place for Parking / Garaging.
6. Avoid all Clutter – ensure there is a place for everything and routinely put everything in its place. You can then find what you need without being continually distracted by needing to search or things (keys, spectacles etc.). Furniture and Fittings should be functional and pleasing and proportionate to the room sizes. Fabrics and colours should be pleasing and harmonious except unless selected for an effect.
7. Cleanliness – is really next to Godliness. Keep everything clean and well maintained and regularly Spring / Festival clean. Except those things which are useful, beautiful or joyous or mementos and Photos etc., other things which you have not even seen or used for over six months may be discarded.
8. Avoid anything that might cause a startle reflex – Mirrors in the Bed rooms that reflect images that may cause one to be startled. Sitting with your back to the door, which again may cause you to be startled etc. Mirrors positioned so as not to startle can be also placed in bedrooms and passages etc.
9. Avoid positions for sitting or sleeping or working that are not ergonomic or which give rise to a sense of discomfort e.g. under low exposed beams or in small disproportionate spaces or alcoves.
10. In India, because of the Monsoons, keep the North and the East more open than the South and the West, and also, maintain the South-West part of the Plot or Structure at a Right angle. The South – West of the Structure / Building should have None or Minimal openings and generally be the heavier portion and should not have falling water with in it.
11. Avoid Toilets and Kitchens in the North-East portion. The direction of wind, especially in coastal areas affected by on / off shore breezes, proper ventilation and openness to sunlight must be considered for the location of Toilets and Kitchen. They must be always well lit and well-ventilated and kept as clean and dry as possible.
12. The Puja Room can be in the North-East or preferably in the Central portion (Brahmastan) of the house, whichever is convenient for Prayer, Meditation and Movement. Face East while Praying in your House or Workspace. In Temples the Deity faces East.
13. DO NOT worry about the location of bore wells (you are fortunate if you get water anywhere in your site) or the direction and exit location of underground sewerage lines (kept out of sight – they really do not matter). Open wells should not be located in the South -West.
14. When sleeping it is best to keep the Head to the South. Keeping it to the East or West is also, acceptable, but avoid sleeping with your Head to the North.
15. While using the W.C. It is recommended to face North or South.
16. The location of the Master Bedroom should as far as possible be in the SouthWest. In any case never in the South-East.
17. Gates / Entrances should be from the North or East in the North – East Quadrant, or from the South of the South – East Quadrant or from the West of the North – West quadrant. The remaining Entry Points should be avoided especially in the Latitudes of India. Obviously, the directions may need to be different in other Geographies.
18. So called Lucky elements to keep in the Home or workplace are the choice of the occupant and as suiting your Culture. (Ganesh Idol or Laughing Buddha and so on).
19. Your car is also, your personal space and an extension of your living room, and hence, such of the above as apply to it (e.g. cleanliness, avoiding clutter, maintaining proper functionality etc.) must also, be ensured for it.

Lastly DO NOT worry about anything else, as in following all the above rules you would have taken care of almost everything you really need to do.
