The increasing maritime trade passing through the restrictive and piracy ridden Malacca Straits calls for a better and safer alternative passage. A proper ‘Panama Canal’ type canal constructed across the peninsular region of Thailand, named ‘RAMANAHAR’ would greatly benefit all the Countries of the region.
