Kidney cleansing
Procedure as recommended by Dr. Piyush Saxena in ‘Cure Yourself’:
Kidneys filter the blood and remove salt and any unwanted toxins there from. Over time such salt and toxins may accumulate in the kidneys and form painful stones. Kidney cleansing also dissolves kidney stones and passes them through urine in microscopically dissolved form.
Ingredients:
Wash the parsley or coriander leaves properly and place in a vessel. Now fill the vessel with just enough water to cover the ingredients, in order to get a concentrated decoction. Boil for about 1 to 2 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and strain it. Boil the residue again with fresh water and repeat this procedure 2 or 3 times until the last boiled mixture begins to lose colour. This indicates that the ingredient has no more of the desired active substance left in it. Mix all the strained medicinal water, discard the residue and let the strained mixture stand for a few minutes, so that any sediment present will sink to the bottom of the vessel. Carefully, decant the upper layer of the mixture into another vessel, avoiding the sediment at the bottom. Discard this sediment. The decoction which would be about 2 ltrs is now ready for use.
Store this decoction in the refrigerator to prevent it from spoiling. Drink a glass of this decoction 3 or 4 times each day on an empty stomach or two hours after a meal for two days. If necessary you may warm it to taste, as heating it slightly after refrigeration does not affect its medicinal properties.
Some people may get better result with corn silk or de-skinned watermelon seeds in lieu of parsley or coriander leaves, however each should be prepared and taken separately. Corn silk must also be washed before boiling, but crushed watermelon seeds should not be washed, but boiled directly.
Some patients might have slight feeling of nausea or get a mild pain in the stomach. This is part of the cleansing process and will subside on its own within a few hours and should not require any treatment.
However if you want a lighter, less concentrated treatment, you may just boil the Parsley or Coriander / Dhaniya leaves in water for 10 minutes. Filter the decoction into a bottle and cool it down and store in the refrigerator and take one glass daily for a week or ten days.
Rinse 200 gms (1 cup) of millets (Sajjalu / Bajra) in warm water. Drain and then add the millets to about 3 ltrs of hot boiled water in a larger pot and let it soak overnight. Next morning shake the mixture, pour out the whitish opaque liquor into a jar, store in refrigerator and drink throughout the day, in any quantity, at any time. Repeat for 10 to 15 days. Consume the millet residue as porridge by boiling it in 3 additional cups of water.
The kidney cleansing process may be undertaking once every 2 to 6 months as deemed necessary.
