Between 1950 to 1977, the global temperature was said to have changed by about 0.50 F and many Scientists gave interviews to Magazines like ‘News Week’ painting a grim future for the world due to this trend in temperature change and foretold catastrophic climate changes. Interestingly this was about a reduction in Global temperature – a Global Cooling, which could lead to a,’ Snow Ball ‘Earth condition. Some 15 years later, the Scientists changed the scenario and began to warn of Global warming. This was due to a more pernicious reason, necessitating blaming human activities for Climate Change (See – ‘Global Domination using Money, Trade and Climate Change’). Now once again, the present studies of the effect of the slowing down of the Atlantic Meridional Oceanic Current (AMOC) is raising the possibility of Global cooling.
Remember, a statement does not become true just because many people say so. Many may have their own reasons to so state and many others may join them out of a false sense of regard or just for a ride on the band-wagon. The ‘little boy’ was right about the Emperor’s ‘New Clothes’ even as the many adults convinced themselves that what they perceived must be wrong because they were told so. Then the advantage was of social acceptance, today the advantage is the availability of money as ‘Grants’ for research.
Are there any such ‘little boys’ who have raised their voices to point out that most of the conclusions drawn from the data is unwarranted, exaggerated and misleading, and that we should look elsewhere for much of the true causes of whatever major changes we are seeing?. Yes, there are.
There are also, many scientists, and many non-scientists but otherwise rational and intelligent people, who have studied the subject, who have put themselves on record saying so. Statistical manipulation and asking of the wrong questions can result in wrong answers and conclusions, they say.
Alberto Cairo in his book – ‘ How Charts Lie’ writes that Global Warming is all but erased when the annual temperatures for the past 130 years is plotted with a base line starting at zero. The question to ask, he says is – ‘ Who makes the charts?’ and ‘What is their agenda?’
The climate is always changing; Hence, context is very important when trying to understand a statement.
