Bad Combinations – Avoid:

- Guava with Banana – causes acidosis.
- Banana and Pudding – encourages production of toxins.
- Oranges with Carrots – adversely affects the renal system.
- Papaya and Lemon – leads to anemia
Good combinations:
- Fats and Proteins combine best with greens, non-starchy vegetables and acidic fruits (citrus, tomatoes, strawberries, pine apple).
- Tomatoes, rich in lycopene, a carotenoid that reduces inflammation and cholesterol and improves immune function, works better when combined with olive oil.
- Brightly coloured salad beans and vegetables, rich in phytochemicals that help fight heart disease, eye cataracts and cancer, need to be eaten with a small amount of absorption boosting monosaturated fats, such as found in nuts, almonds or avocadoes.
- Red pepper, kidney beans or leafy greens and tomatoes help better absorption of plant based iron.

Timings for some foods:
- Avoid eating curds/yoghurt at night, especially if suffering from cough/cold, as it encourages mucous formation.
- Avoid cheese at night as it is heavy to digest.
- Have warm milk before bed-time as it helps in getting a good night’s sleep.
- Milk in the morning must be followed by physical activity / exercise.
