This is what the story of the ‘Asuras’ and ‘Devas’, from our ancient tales tell us. Of the ‘Samudra Manthan’ they undertook to together churn the cosmic ocean and thus realize the many benefits they collectively got from such cooperation. This attitude, of working together in a cooperative manner, enabled the culture and the Indian civilization to continue even long after the many individual Kings died or were replaced, and their lands assimilated, mostly peacefully, into that of the other Kingdoms and, for the spread of the Indian culture by voluntary acceptance by the locals there. This is why the
Indian civilization is the only civilization, across the world, that has still continued to exist over millennia. Even today this difference, between the Western/Communist way, and the Indian Dharmic way, is evident in their respective approach to progress and manner of dealing with others. It is this attitude of ‘Manthan’, and not that of a ‘Tug of War’, that we should now encourage and work with, to enable better use of available resources and generate abundance for All. Ofcourse one cannot have such a Dharmic/Manthan policy unless the other also ascribes to it.
The Indian diaspora, spread in every country across the world, is a great force that India must call upon to explain such a concept to others in the Country they now live in and, to also explain and propagate the Indian point of view and work to ensure that right decisions are taken by the powers that be in that Country for the benefit of both countries. Establishing Dharmic Cultural Centres to spread the awareness of the eternal values of ethics, morality, duty and obligations that Sanatana/ Eternal Dharma calls upon all to follow to attain the best of Life/Heaven in this life and on this Earth itself, by understanding and practising the concept of having your own Personal Deity to whom you pray and not interfering with what Deity others pray to, and by living in accordance with the Golden Rule –
‘DO NOT DO UNTO, OR DEMAND OF OTHERS, WHAT YOU WOULD NOT WANT THEM TO DO UNTO, OR DEMAND OF YOU!’
Many of these Countries share ancient cultural and trading relations with India and would hence welcome building on the concepts of ‘Ubuntu’ (I am because we are) and of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the World is one Family).
